Victorian silver and glass perfume bottle designed to be worn as an elegant pendant. Ruby glass bottle is decorated with splattered enamel and encased between two parts of silver. A porcelain cap is incorporated in the lower part. Both silver parts are fully marked with the English hallmarks Walter Thornhill & Co London 1888 and also carry Dutch silver marks Z 1 indicating 925 silver which was used on second hand silver items from 1853. As this was acquired in the Netherlands it would appear the item was made in Engalnd and imported into that country.
