The double gourd symbolizes longevity, fertility, prosperity, and protection. It is associated with good health and a long life, and because of its numerous seeds, it also represents many offspring and the continuation of a family line. In Daoism, it is linked to immortality and is believed to contain entire worlds, while its shape represents the unity of heaven and earth.
