Bristol blue laydown glass scent bottle, c.1770, gilded in the manner of James Giles with a cartouche inscribed L'AMITIE (Friendship) within formal swags, the reverse with stars, chamfered edges, gilt metal cap and orginal blue glass stopper. Gilding on the glass is worn through 250 years of handling as is the gilt cap which has a split in it.
